Summer

* * * * *

What's not to love, girlfriend?

* * * * *

Summer's Second Day

* * * * *

Hot.
Steamy.
Sultry.
Sticky.
Sweaty.

One should be on a beach covered with oil and sand.

It's Official

* * * * *

Summer arrived today.
It's 82 and 100% humidity.
Granny would say "phew, it's close" -
meaning...a storm is a'brewin.

Yay Summer!
It's pretty.

A Fish named Lips

 * * * * *
This will be crazy.
Many years ago - 11-12 years ago,
 our fish pond was filled with goldfish.  Teeney cute goldfish.
Larry loved his pond and yes, named the fish.
Spike.  White Fin.  Pale Face. Sargent (stripes).  And Lips.
and yes...this itsy, bitsy little gold fish had an upper and lower lips.

Only Larry would appreciate this...or you, had you met him.

Happy Birthday, Honey

best v worst

 * * * * *

Perennials are my favorite flowers.
For good reason:
IN MY OPINION, they are the finest
of all the summer flowers.
That's the best.

They don't last long enough.
And that's the worst!

Thank you for the show,  my pastel beauties!

Bathing Suits

* * * * *

I just wanted to see what my friends and I will
buy for sun bathing sometime in the future.

I'll need the brown - redheads don't wear orange well.

ok.  That's the plan.

not invited

* * * * *

Today the chickens held a meeting.
We are not sure what was discussed
because we were not invited and
when we tried to sit in
they ended it.

Um..

Under construction

* * * * *
Yep...still here.
Still painting.
His given name is Mike - we call him Eldon now.

Renovating / Reconstruction / New Construction
"tests" one's patience:

Step over this...don't step in that...
(this is when dogs will prove they do not understand human language)

Eldon: Do you like the colour?
Me: I think so.
Eldon: Well, I'm not sure, now that it's up.
Me: Well, maybe I should live with it for a few days.
Eldon: Ok, but remember, you picked it - the colour.
Me: I realize that; no problem.
Mike - I mean, Eldon: Are you sure?
Me: I think so.

Playing for Change

* * * * *

I started Early – Took my Dog –
And visited the Sea –
The Mermaids in the Basement
Came out to look at me –

And Frigates – in the Upper Floor
Extended Hempen Hands –
Presuming Me to be a Mouse –
Aground – opon the Sands –

But no Man moved Me – till the Tide
Went past my simple Shoe –
And past my Apron – and my Belt
And past my Boddice – too –

And made as He would eat me up –
As wholly as a Dew
Opon a Dandelion's Sleeve –
And then – I started – too –

And He – He followed – close behind –
I felt His Silver Heel
Opon my Ancle – Then My Shoes
Would overflow with Pearl –

Until We met the Solid Town –
No One He seemed to know –
And bowing – with a Mighty look –
At me – The Sea withdrew –

All Ready.....

* * * * *

Oh, my...he's all saddled.
Just need to mount up and take off...

...if only I didn't have to go to work;
...if only it wasn't so hot outside;
...if only I could trust my achy knees...

He's all ready.

I must truly get there again...in this lifetime.

D-Day, Normandy, France

 * * * * *

 Bear with me, Kids...June 6th,  I share with my Dad to remember - to reflect and honour the remaining few of WWII Veterans that landed on Normandy beach this day.  Norm did, along with thousands of others - some who made it home - many, too many who didn't.  18 year old kids and younger.  I honour this day for my Dad and all his fellow servicemen who served through the horrors on Normandy Beach,

June 6th, 1944.

Ceremonies honor veterans 67 years later

D-Day veteran Rangers stand at attention and salute during the
commemorative ceremony of the 67th anniversary of the Allied
invasion as part of Operation Overlord, in Pointe du Hoc, Normandy,
France on June 6. A reduced group of surviving veterans, who stormed
the battery 67 years ago, were present for the inauguration of a
monument in their honor.

the 67th D-Day anniversary on June 6, 1944 allied landings in Normandy,
then occupied by Nazi Germany.

Yeah, but ...

* * * * *

I know.
Posts have been a tad sparse.

They'll get sparser (?) before they return to some
decent consistency.

Too many irons in the fire - like everyone here in Michigan
trying to get the crops in the ground between the monsoons
in addition to "sprucing up the joint".

Yeah, right.  I wish those were the only "projects".

The "stuff" I'm into currently has everything to do with
plans for my future....so I sacrifice a little posting now
so I can play with these blogs (and more) later.

Got it?  I'm SO glad.  I will miss you too.
I promise to post only when something fun happens.
Wait - that's every day...

Ok..fun or passionate or sensitive
only then.

MUWHA!
