"once you are real, you can't be ugly"

* * * * *

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become Real."
.
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real, you don't mind being hurt."
.
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"
.
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real, you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

because sometimes these posts ignite memory and a "wake up" call!

Thanks, Dr. Brene!!!

Thank God It's Friday

* * * * *

What a week!
My brain needs a break from
work
inspections on new house
work
physical therapy
lenders, attorneys, unfriendly/unhelpful people (work)
obligatory meetings
work
and all of life's other required tasks...

looking very forward to none of that for two whole days
in order to refuel...

Part of The Plan: Moving On

* * * * *

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

New Chapter.2

* * * * *

Trust me on this one, I've recently changed my thinking.
Rather than not expecting, so that there's no disappointment,
expect the BEST or...even BETTER!

POOF - the best and even better happens!

I rather prefer the results!

GO FOR THE BEST!!!
