I know...everyone is busy 'pinning' on Pinterest...

but frankly, I'm so busy on so many other cool sites
that I just can't seem to make my way to the Pin joint!

While in Leland...home sweet home....

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

it's time

I like to make decisions about getaways quickly.

Spontaneous.

Decide today - and just do it.

So I did.

I feel like I'm 7 years old and Christmas is coming.

Not ready and a bad point and shoot camera...but:

* * * * *

Plus, none of these loaded in the right order, so...this is pretty much a bust this evening.

But a few friends have asked more than once for pics of the new tent.
I keep fighting it that we're not QUITE moved in yet.

It's like we took our good bath and a nap, but
we haven't had our mani, pedi, hair and makeup done for

pics before the prom.

But still, I'll try a few.

Let me start out by saying.
The walls in photos look baby blue.
They are not.
They are steel grey-blue.
The trim is not white-white -
it is a TRUE OFF-WHITE.

ok:

One wall of the family room:
Candle - cabinet & tv - and the lovely Lia

The fireplace wall...there's a couple more
antique mirrors for the mantle -
just haven't make it out of their packaging yet...
and THERE - the trim around doors off white, the
paint around them - charcoal grey
the paint on the wall adjacent: steel grey - more true
to the actual colors around here...(whew!)
(and Zoe's head)

The Kitchen
Reeeallly old oak cabinets painted off white;

"windows" in corner cabinets and new sink w/
new appliances. Kept old stone tile & wood floor.

Kitchen
I bought this cabinet online from Anthropologie
3 drawers with #'s 1, 2 3 (it's cute)
Bldr. has ordered larger surface granite for top
so this "island" will be counter-height and accommodate
a few stools...belly up to the bar, folks!

Yes, this wall in the Kitchen is Chalkboard Black
and as people visit, they sign.

The spare "music" room was of no use to me but
a pantry was in order and voila!
This is one wall only (heh heh)

The plan was, "build it so I don't need to
go to the basement for anything but the
Christmas Tree" !
The other 2 walls are vacuums, dog food
brooms...what else - it's all in there
(she said smiling)

The former owner used this for a living room and
the family room as a family room.
I didn't need both.
But the kitchen doesn't provide for serving dinner
to more than a party of one.
So: it's either a dining room - or ...
tonite it's a workspace!!!

WHEN I get around to it and some pics get hung,
and some paintings get framed (and hung)
and we get some good photography
with a decent camera,
THEN you'll see more
WITH the prom dress...
promise.
:o)

Wow...........

David Kracov’s breathtaking sculpture entitled The Book of Life will really give you butterflies.

The metal sculpture, which stands at around half a metre tall, is a tribute to the extraordinary life of Rabbi Yossi Raichik, director of Charbad’s Children of Chernobyl organisation.

Each of the hand-painted butterflies represents the 2547 children that escaped Chernobyl’s nuclear disaster and, with the help of the charity, have been given a chance at a new life.
