I Want

* * * * *

Well that's good to know:

I would like to get through this busiest workday where
people are as unscathed as possible.

Thank you, Universe.

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”
— Robin Williams

That's a great plan!

When this steroidal-busyness at work calms down,
I think I'll have a go with
a spark of madness!

Uniform out of Necessity

* * * * *
The next three work days are going to be killer:
1.) because it's month end and it's always overtime hours and
2.) couple that with the tax credit extension didn't pass

so: I need

Comfort - Jean jacket
But dress up a little for the office - Tutu
Who knows when I'll be able to pee - Diaper
Working too many long hours for high heels AND
in case the diaper fails - Slickers

Perfect!

mixed stone fruit salsa

* * * * *

C'mon...what are you REALLY doing with all that great fruit?

Are you REALLY going to bake a cherry pie?

Isn't this just as enticing?????

mixed stone fruit salsa
3 c chopped mixed stone fruit
1/2 c chopped red onion
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
1 tbsp minced basil leaves
1 tsp kosher salt

you can pick whichever stone fruits you like, cherries, plums, pluots (plum/apricot hybrid), peaches, apricots or apriums (apricot/plum hybrid - don't ask), firm nectarines. i just grabbed an assortment at the farmer’s market.

chop up all of the assorted stone fruit, removing any stems or pits, dicing everything up into small cubes. mince the jalapeno (removing the stem, seeds an pulp first), onion, garlic and basil. mix this all together with your lemon juice, olive oil and salt. enjoy immediately or let sit in the fridge for about an hour to let the flavors meld together.

Love/Hate Solstices

* * * * *

Sure...I love the longest day of the year.
First day of summer
So much to do
So much to look forward to.
This is the glass half full...

...and now the glass half empty:
after today, the days - they will begin their
annual shrinking;
less and less daylight - day by day.

Wait. I love fall and winter.

Ok. Never mind. I'm fine now.

Happy longest day of the year.

Clotheslines

* * * * *

My Nona in Pennsylvania had a clothesline going
from early spring until late fall;
never owned a dryer. In the winter, laundry
was hung in the cellar (basement).

I've always loved certain things on a clothes line
and always wanted one in my adult years....sorta.

But I suppose if I reeeaalllly wanted one, I'd have it.

a Friend emailed recently to say that
she was hanging her sheets on 'the line';
that did it.
I decided that day at least my bed linens were ALSO
going to smell like the great outdoors.

So: I sent my bed pillows
to a summer party on the deck.
They had a great time.
I plumped, puffed, kneaded and turned them over
a few times.

Sleep that night smelled like I imagine heaven probably smells...

Getting Lost in the Art of Illustration

* * * * *
As much as I thought I was passing over the "safe" zone
with my passion for YELLOW this spring,
I am proud to announce
(being a Gemini)
I don't hang onto "like" very long.
Soon, I'm off "liking" something else.

And now (or still) it is the Art of Illustration.
If I had more walls,
I'd frame and hang more of this
creativity!

and it's funny about art.
like an opinion.
the more you find,
the more there is.
It's wonderful!!!

Friday - Summer - Simple

* * * * *
I know.
Occasionally I post a beeautiful picture
of what appears to be
superb food;
and the recipe that accompanies the photo
is complex and extensive
(and necessary ingredients cannot be found
in this country!)!

However,
Nothing...
Absolutely nothing....
Seriously: n-o-t-h-i-n-g beats a fresh
home grown tomato sandwich.

Sure.
you add lots of different items
with the tomatoes....

OR NOT!

yummmmmmmmmmm

Assessing the Damage

* * * * *
I knew when I got home this evening,
after walking thru the back yard
I'd find some more effects
from (another) thunderstorm today.

This is also one of my mother's plants.
she loved poppies.
I think it was the opium.

All of her poppies had tissue-thin petals
and the very softest colours

Oh goodie - hopefully we'll have a couple more
beautiful posies

This was hers also.
I have no idea what it is
but if the flowers would lift their little bodies...

you would see this sweetness!

Oh good gravy...
these girls wouldn't dare roam more than 10 feet from me.

Here's Zoe saying:
"if I could straighten the crook in my tail - I'd be a Pointer"!

..and our family clown:
Lia who can help re-arrange the sticks for you
and she's glad to do it!!

Yep...more clean up.
And by August/September, we'll be begging for rain
and the sound of a thunderstorm.

Found a New Love - David Garrett

* * * * *
The Violin is not my new love.
I have loved it's music since the onset of memory.

What I can't understand
is how I missed this Virtuoso.

Oh. My. Word.

Do you know this guy?
Have you seen him play?
AND
if you have,
WHY DIDN'T YOU SHARE HIM WITH ME???????

ahhhhhhhhhhh........

Hello? Amazon?
Yes...send me all of his CD's please.
Good. When can I expect them?
Ohhhh no: you'll have to express them.
Oh no....thank YOU!

Thank you, God, for my hearing.
