Being Part of the Cause

Joining the cause was easy: I believe in it
...also...it suited me because it was only ONE HOUR!
And I could have done it for longer - gone without electricity and lights in the dark time
We 'Ol Michiganders are accoustomed to loosing power
- for hours and even days.

So one small hour, to be connected globally, didn't hurt a bit.
Not for me.
Not for people on the other side of the world:

Earth Hour Reaches New Heights With World’s Tallest Building Switching Off For Earth Hour
3/27/10
Momentum for Earth Hour continues to flourish with The Middle East most recently in the dark after switching off. The UAE was a tremendous celebration, with the official Earth Hour event in Dubai a parade led by a police marching band.
The parade also included the National Guard, Fire Brigade and citizens of Dubai, with organisers encouraged everyone to bring lanterns and candles to the parade and estimated at least 5,000 people attended.
Standing at over 800m, the world tallest building has switched off for Earth Hour. The Burj Khalifa, which usually illuminates the night sky in Dubai, has made a spectacular statement for action on climate change when it plunged into darkness for Earth Hour.

And when the hour was over, I was reminded how many rooms I didn't need to re-ignite.
